The Return of the GBA Social
Isn't it nice to stop after work and have a quick drink and appetizers with some fellow business owners? It's a good way to get to know other people in town, to network, and to have fun. Join us from 5:30 to 7:30 pm June 30 at the Wheel House, the speak-easyish bar downstairs at the Arts Block, as we debut the new website on the big screen.

Have you needed a reason to check out the beautiful new addition at Greenfield Community College? You are hereby invited to attend the GBA's annual meeting luncheon there on June 16 from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm.

We will eat lunch, hear the annual report and elect a new board (consider running for a board seat if you'd like to be more involved in Greenfield's business community). The featured speaker, Kathy Vranos, assistant professor of business/marketing at GCC, will share strategies  on business planning. Tickets are $12 in advance or at the door, billed, $13. Drop by the Chamber and reserve your seat or e-mail Kate at the GBA and we'll save you a spot with a view!

It's hard to contain our enthusiasm. Because Greenfield's 200th anniversary as county seat of Franklin County is going to be a BIG event. The list of activities and attractions is long, Main Street is going to be closed to cars, and people are going to be out and about. This is the day to be a part of it all! GBA representatives have been going store to store, on Main Street and beyond, asking retailers to put out their wares July 23, from 10 am to 5 pm. If we missed you, e-mail Kate and we'll get you the information you need. There is no charge to GBA members for radio and print advertising, permits or planning, but you have to let us know if you plan to participate so we can tell the Town of Greenfield, which is hosting the event.

GBA Website Needs Photos

A great new member benefit: visitors to the new GBA website (launching soon!) will see rotating images of member businesses on the top of the site on every page. All you need to do is send Kate a photo of your business, with you in front of it, or not. Send a .JPG in landscape format and we'll size it. Interested in promoting your business further on the website? Get on the waiting list to be a featured member. For $100 for one month, users will see a photo and profile of your business that remains on the page as they navigate throughout the site. We're booked through the fall, but will have openings in time for the holidays.

Speaking of the website, if you have a favorite blog related to Greenfield, let Kate know. We will link to it from our site.

Visitors Center Reopens

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center at the Greenfield rotary holds its grand re-opening today at 3 pm. Governor Deval Patrick will be on hand to commemorate the event. We're excited to be welcoming visitors to Greenfield and the county in our new space. Stop by to say hello any day from 9 am to 5 pm.
