SummerFest Sidewalk Sales Are Almost Here!
SummerFest Sidewalk Sales are just around the corner and we're busy getting ready! We have over 40 local merchants and outside vendors ready to show off their stuff on Main Street, come rain or shine. (But we know it will be shine, right? Right?)
We'll be bringing posters around soon with a full schedule. You can also view the SummerFest Sidewalk Sales event page on facebook here
to keep updated.
We're looking forward to a bang-up event, and if you know any anti-rain dances, now's the time to do them! ;)
If you have questions regarding SummerFest Sidewalk Sales contact Caitlin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 413.774.2791. Come join in the summer fun!
Welcome New Board Members!
Danielle Letourneau-Therrien & Jd Hairston
The Annual Meeting Breakfast at Terrazza Ristorante at the Country Club of Greenfield was a great success! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, learned what social media platforms are best for our businesses - thanks, Jennifer Williams of Verilliance
! - and voted in new board members Jd Hairston, co-owner and chef at The Brass Buckle
; Danielle Letourneau-Therrien, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County
; and Sue Maguire, of The Recorder
. We couldn't be happier with the new additions and look forward to a full and fruitful year!
We'll be doing our Green Eggs promotion at both the upcoming SummerFest Sidewalk Sales, July 12 & 13, and the Green River Festival, July 20 & 21 and this is your chance to take part!
In case you're not familiar with our green eggs, they are just what they sound like - green plastic eggs that we fill with member coupons as well as a coupon to win Greenfield Dollars. We sell them for $1 for adults, 2/$1 for kids to raise money to support GBA events.
The Green Egg sales are a great way to promote your business, get visibility, and get new feet through the door. If you'd like to be a part of this great opportunity, call or email Caitlin at the GBA for more details. 413.774.2791 or email@example.com
We Need Volunteers!
We'll be setting up the GBA tent at both the SummerFest Sidewalk Sales - July 12 & 13 - and the Green River Festival - July 20 & July 21 and we're looking for volunteers. Stand in the GBA tent and sell Green Eggs while chatting up possible customers!
Day passes to the Green River Festival
are available to volunteers who work a four-hour shift at the Fest. We're looking for 12:30 to 4:30 and 4:30 to 8:30 shifts on both days. Email Caitlin at firstname.lastname@example.org
for more info. Thank you in advance!
GBA Coordinator Caitlin on WHMP
Thanks to Bill Newman and WHMP for having me on the panel for his show "Sit On It Part 2," a discussion of benches and other downtown livability issues which took place on June 28. A lively discussion was had with Bill and co-panelist Mayor Martin of Greenfield, Northampton City Council President/Councilor-at-large Bill Dwight, Northampton Ward 4 City Councilor Pam Schwartz, and Northampton advocate for the homeless Yvonne Freccero. It's always exciting and informative to talk to folks in other towns and cities to see how they're working on similar issues to those we have here in Greenfield. It was inspirational!
Below, Greenfield Mayor Bill Martin discusses the Greenfield Rejuvenators
prototype bench with a young constituent (and GBA heir) outside the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce office while Representative Paul Mark becomes the first official bench sitter. That's Rejuvenator Ed Terault strolling by in the background.
Thanks for Being a Member of the GBA!
Thanks to the following members for renewing in April. A strong membership makes for a strong business community and we greatly appreciate your participation!
