LAST CALL for Softball!
Second Annual Franklin County Softball Tournament
Hello GBA Members!
We are still looking for 4-6 players for the second annual Franklin County Softball Tournament! The Greenfield Business Association, Greenfield Community College and the Mary Vazquez league is sponsoring a double elimination softball tournamen
We can host up to eight teams (with up to 15 players on a roster). You can register as a small group or individual. We realize there are many small businesses without enough employees to field a full team so we can easily combine several businesses. If you are registering as a group you will pay all of your fees at the same time. To that end, ensure you know who you are signing up and have made arrangements to get payment from them. Feel free to also invite friends/family! For GBA members (and their employees) the registration fee is $10 per person and for non GBA members it is $15 per person. Fees go to cover prizes, umpires, equipment and beverages. A food truck will be on site for lunch, but participants will need to pay for their own lunch.
The goal is simply to have fun and connect in a friendly competition! Each team will be guaranteed two games. We would like to have as much gender balance as possible across teams. We will be using ASA rules and modified pitch. Modified pitch is somewhere between slow and fast and no windmill pitching is allowed. We will share rules in advance of the tournament!
In regards to equipment, everyone will need their own glove. We are working on getting some bats and catchers masks, but please reach out to us if you have equipment you can share with your team on that day.
We are also looking for volunteers to help staff the event. So if you want to come hang out but don't want to play and can help with registration and other logistics please email Judy.
